January 2020 vacation care program coming soon.

You can have fun at OSHC throughout the holidays now too!

We design our programs with your child in mind. Our incursions (where a provider comes to us) and excursions (where we venture into our community) are school age (5-12 years) appropriate and there is something for everyone. Our programming is guided by the “My Time Our Place” framework and we encourage curiosity through play and leisure.

Our programs

The programs we provide are specifically designed with each child and centre in mind, we keep it engaging and meaningful – you won’t find the same program at each service.  A new program is revised each vacation period, keeping it new and exciting.

We offer a variety of activities including games, drama, physical activity & sport, cooking, art & craft, STEAM activities, gardening, bowling, bike riding/scootering, movie days, picnics, just to name a few.  Your child will have so much fun, they’ll be asking to come back for more.

Why vacation care is GREAT!

Children relish this time to build their independence and explore other interests.  Your child will enjoy playing, socialising and building on their skills, such as decision-making and communication.  It’s their time, their place, to experience all vacation care has to offer or have some time out and relax.

Safety on excursions

Our 1:10 ratio on excursions (at a minimum) ensures, more educators are attending to the emotional and physical needs and safety of your child when offsite.  Our educators hold qualifications in first aid and emergency protocols and are qualified and passionate about providing high quality care for all children.  Risk assessments are undertaken and parents are provided with excursion permission slips and details on how to reach us while offsite.

What to bring

You should bring/wear a hat, enclosed shoes, a drink bottle for water throughout the day and lunch.  Sunscreen, morning and afternoon tea is provided. Vacation Care is a nut free environment due to allergies.

Medication

If your child requires medication while attending vacation care you will need to complete and date an Administration of Medication form, with details of the child’s name, date, medication, dosage, and time the medication is to be administered. Medication must be provided in original containers.

What if your child is not currently enrolled or attending OSHC

Your child doesn’t need to be a student at the school or currently attend the SCECS OSHC to attend our vacation care, you will just have to register your child with us first. Contact the Service Coordinator on the below details for further information and support.

Cost

Vacation Care Daily Fee $60* – plus an additional cost on days when incursions/excursions are booked to cover the activity. This varies depending on the activity. *A $10 surcharge applies for bookings made within 7 days prior to the attending date. Incursions will proceed if minimum numbers are met.

Please Note – Bookings may be cancelled at any time by giving 7 days advance notice to SCECS. Bookings cancelled on less than 7 days’ notice, will be charged the full fee, inclusive of extras, minus any CCS.
