Who we are

Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) is a not-for-profit service catering to children and families from our Catholic schools and the local community. SCECS currently operates Outside School Hours Care and Early Childhood Services at several Catholic schools and Parishes within the Sydney Archdiocese.

The role

Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services is seeking to expand its financial team with a new role to support our growth. The Procurement and Accounting role is to provide procurement expertise and support to assist stakeholders plan, develop, source and facilitate procurement arrangements to effectively meet business outcomes.

The role oversees critical deliverables within the payables to ensure timely processing and accurate financial records of the company. This role will also contribute to other transaction processing tasks as required and monitor compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.

Role requirements

Essential

  • HSC or Equivalent
  • Post-secondary qualification in Business, Accounting and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of financial accounting role

Desirable

  • Professional Association Membership (CA / CPA) or working towards
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children/working in a school environment

Essential Knowledge

  • Strong commitment to the traditions and teachings of the Catholic faith
  • Accounting system knowledge (TechOne, SAP, large ERP system)
  • Financial report writing experience
  • Excel and computer literacy (MS Office Suite, Google platform, CCMS system)

Working with Children Clearance

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed before your commencement with us.
